India VS Afghanistan
The 33rd match of the T20 World Cup series between India and Afghanistan was played today, Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 7:00 PM at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Afghan captain had an excellent bowling line that could easily get the Indian batsmen out in the second innings. But the Afghan captain invited India, the world's strongest batting line-up, to bat first. The Indian captain wanted the same because India's run rate on the points table was negative, India wanted to improve their run rate by batting well so that there was a hope of reaching the semi-finals. The Indian opening pair started the smoky innings and beat the Afghan bowlers well. The Indian opening pair scored 140 runs for the first wicket partnership. Rohit Sharma played a brilliant inning of 74 runs off 47 balls, KL Rahul scored 69 off 48 balls while all-rounder Hardik Pandya played not-out innings of 35 off 13 balls. India put up a 210-run stand for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and Afghanistan was given a target of 211 runs to win the match.
Karim Janat from Afghanistan gave away 7 runs in 1 over and dismissed 1 player, While Gulbadin NAB gave away 39 runs in 4 overs and dismissed 1 player. Afghanistan's number one Spanish bowler Rashid Khan and captain Mohammad Nabi did not dismiss any player.
